ClarkDietrich Drift Head-of-wall clips are used in deflection conditions for in-fill curtain wall assemblies and/or interior nonload-bearing partitions to provide for both vertical (deflection) and lateral (drift) movement. The Drift Head-of-wall clips can be attached to the underside of structural members, concrete decks or floor assemblies. Structural attachments are positioned in the center of the slot with a bushing to allow building drift. The DHW clip can be installed on the hard or soft side of the stud. Step bushings are provided for the connection to the structure and allow for 2" lateral deflection (1" left and right). Proprietary Deflection Screws are provided for the connection of the clip to the stud and allow for 2" vertical deflection (1" up and down). ClarkDietrich deflection clips include our Proprietary Deflection Screw that have been specifically designed to provide friction-free deflection. These fasteners eliminate drag, binding or resistance that can often occur with common fasteners.

Installation
Installation:Attach to primary structure using 1/4" fasteners and Drift bushings. Proprietary Deflection Screws are used to attach the clip to the cold-formed steel framing. Screws shall be driven through the slotted holes and positioned to allow for the appropriate building deflection. The DHW clip can be installed the hard or soft side of the side.Drift Bushing and Deflection ScrewsStep bushings are provided for the connection to the structure and allow for 2" lateral deflection (1" left and right).
